Suturing is accomplished in a simple interrupted pattern 2-3 mm apart using a 4-0 Monocryl on a PS-2 or PS-3 needle is used in medium to large dogs for closure. Small dogs and cats benefit from 5-0 Monocryl on a P-3 needle. The interdental suture pattern is demonstrated here, used commonly in closing canine extraction site flaps.
